Komodo Island

Komodo Island is the biggest island in Komodo National Park, located in the central part of Indonesia. The island is famous for being the natural habitat of the Komodo dragon, the world’s largest living lizard, which can grow up to 3 meters long and weighs over 70 kg.

In addition to the Komodo dragon, Komodo Island is also home to a variety of other wildlife, including wild boars, water buffaloes, and various bird species. The island’s landscape is characterized by rugged hills, dry savannah, and beautiful beaches.

Visitors to Komodo Island can take guided tours to observe the Komodo dragons in their natural habitat, and also explore the island’s natural beauty through hiking and snorkeling activities. It is important to follow safety precautions and respect the animals’ space, as the Komodo dragons can be dangerous if provoked.

Komodo Island and the rest of Komodo National Park are recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage site and serve as an important conservation area for the Komodo dragon and other unique wildlife species in the region.

How to get to Komodo Island
